Abstract :
This paper discusses the control strategy of the 1995 Waynescort and the design and construction details of its motor controller. The 1995 Waynescort is a parallel, four wheel-drive, hybrid-electric vehicle whose two separately excited DC motors are torque controlled to allow the engine and the motors to be operated simultaneously with a minimum of modification to the vehicle. The vehicle´s winning performance was achieved with low cost, standard materials.
