Abstract :
With the introduction of trust mechanism into the wireless ad hoc network, security can be greatly improved, because trust information is shared among all nodes in the network. However, such a mechanism also has the potential vulnerability if the so-called ´big-mouth´ nodes broadcast wrong trust information. Some measures have to be taken to filter the received trust information before it is fed to the trust aggregation system. In this paper, a new scheme is proposed to evaluate the confidence level of the broadcasted values and thus securely calculate the indirect trust. The basic assumption is that most nodes in the network are honest. Simulation results showed that the proposed scheme can effectively resist the bigmouth attack and the trust opinion can quickly converge to the correct value.
