Abstract
Novel EHF integrated electronically steered ferrite antennas based on application of electrically controlled planar FDF-waveguide (ferrite-dielectric-ferrite) are presented. The FDF-waveguide integrates different electromagnetic functions in one unit: waveguiding, phase-shifting, electromagnetic power distribution, radiation and coupling. Design ideas and research results of microstrip patch antennas (active or passive) and FDF-waveguide combination resulting in the new antenna concept with very simplified beam position electrical control are discussed
