Abstract
We propose the application of a modified transiently chaotic neural network to solve the optimum detection problem in DS/CDMA systems. The optimum detection problem is formulated as an energy minimization problem. It can be minimized by a modified transiently chaotic neural network (MTCNN). The MTCNN-based detector offers performance improvement over the existing Hopfield neural network detector with a little increase in computational complexity. Numerical results show that the proposed detector can approximate the optimum detector closely
