Abstract :
Each wireless communication system has its own unique operating conditions. RF conditions, call traffic, and subscriber mobility of every sector are different from others. In order to achieve maximum capacity and optimal performance of a network, it is crucial to have an efficient channel assignment method that dynamically fits to the unique operating conditions of the network. In this paper, a self-engineered adaptive channel allocation (SEACA) scheme is proposed. The SEACA employs a self engineering engine that monitors network operating condition changes which include RF conditions, call traffic, subscriber mobility, and network resource utilization, then it decides an optimal time to adjusts channel assignment of each cell. SEACA provides the most feasible and effective adaptive channel assignment scheme in today´s networks by de-coupling the channel allocation process from real-time call processing which has been a major limitation of typical dynamic channel allocation and adaptive channel allocation
