Abstract
In this paper, we consider differentially coherent synchronization for a short code CDMA system. The approach exploits the fading channel´s time-correlatedness and constant pilot sequence. The method outperforms the matched filter in heavy load environments, and has better near-far resistance. Therefore, the method is a very promising candidate for initial acquisition in next generation mobile communications
