  • Abstract
The estimation of the angle of arrival of a broadband signal in the presence of broadband interferences and noise is proposed. It is assumed that the communication channel includes frequency selective fading and presents high attenuation in the vicinity of the center frequency of the incoming signal. The broadband interferences are highly overlapping in bandwidth. The direction finding is accomplished by using a group of two-dimensional digital filters which are implemented by spatial and temporal specifications. The required characteristics compensate the highly frequency-dependent attenuation of the received signal and are easily applied to the digital filter design algorithm. The performance of the proposed system is studied by computer simulations and the precision of the estimation is the advantage of the method
