Abstract
The theoretical expected advantages of the concept with a step down chopper in the dc link of an induction heating converter are confirmed by evaluating a simulation model as well as a laboratory model. For the simulation model a complete induction heating system for an industrial furnace including the converter with the control equipment as well as the line transformer and the load was designed.
