  • Abstract
This paper presents the development of a programmable three phase ac power source. The power source described in this paper is capable of providing a stable ac voltage with variable amplitude and variable frequency over a wide range. Moreover, it can generate low harmonic distortion arbitrary waveforms. This is achieved by a novel topology of class D power amplifier used in the proposed voltage source power stage. A programmable ac voltage source is very well suited for testing electronic equipment, appliances, consumer products, motors or other equipment which has to be supplied by a single or polyphase mains. Experimental results are presented using different waveforms and show the good performance of proposed programmable voltage source.
