Abstract :
Quad band GSM RF transceiver parts were integrated to small size one packaged module using LTCC multilayer substrate. To reducing footprint of module, we integrate the Rx, Tx matching circuit and low pass filters in LTCC. To design balanced Rx matching circuit, we proposed a simple and effective matching structure (integrated passive matching network, IPMN), and derived the analytic equation to estimate the matching values and input impedance. Through the measurement of IPN matching circuit, we verified the effectiveness of this structure and equation. By embedding matching circuit and two low pass filters in LTCC substrate, world smallest quad band RF transceiver module with size of 10 × 10 × 1.4mm can be fabricated.
