Abstract
A cost of poor-quality model is presented for a typical repair process through a warehouse environment. It is a probabilistic cost model, consisting of a set of repair process states; a set of conditions of the unit (truly defective/nondefective), in warranty/out-of-warranty within-keep level/out-of-keep level; a distribution on the set of conditions, a transition matrix, containing the transition probabilities from state to state, depending on the unit´s condition; a set of paths, i.e. all ordered (finite) sequences of repair process states through which a unit can possibly pass; a set of optimal paths; and a cost matrix containing the costs of making a transition from state to state
