Abstract :
In this paper a range alignment algorithm for inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) is presented. In ISAR ship imaging using an airborne radar on a platform moving with constant velocity along a straight path the shifts of echoes in range can be modelled by a linear function for short observation time. After estimating the coefficients of this function it is possible to compute the shifts of echoes and resample the data.
