Abstract
For several years, a high-value resistance measurement system of the modified Wheatstone bridge type is in operation at PTB. It is used for calibration of resistors with values in the range from 1 GΩ to 100 TΩ. Recently, the guarding and grounding of the bridge has been optimized to reduce measurement times and noise. This has enabled us to extend the range for calibration to 1 PΩ. The new guard and ground scheme is described and measurement results are presented together with an estimation of the achievable measurement uncertainty.
