Abstract
In this paper, a new simplified radar target simulator (RTS) with no active components used as a millimeter wave radar evaluation system is introduced. The system includes a low-RCS dielectric lens antenna and a dielectric waveguide used as a feed line and also used as a primary radiator of the lens. In a small room environment with a few meter length, 10 to 20 meters distance extension is possible without excessive power loss by selecting the length of the dielectric waveguide. At the end of the dielectric waveguide, a short termination is provided. By adjusting the aperture area of the dielectric waveguide opening hidden by a metallic plate, the reflection coefficient can be changed and adjusting the effective radar cross section of the target is possible. With some experiment effectiveness of this system has been proved.
