Abstract :
This work on engineering education and multimedia methods and technology urges the development of anthropocentric systems in which humans and machines work in harmony, creating a better educated workforce, at all levels, by building on existing skills, ingenuity and expertise, using new science and technology-based methods and tools, such as interactive multimedia. Consequently there is a need to develop new creative and stimulative multimedia-based infrastructures, products and means of production that can meet challenges now faced by many companies and even countries. The topics discussed include: student centred learning, open and distance learning using multimedia; interactive multimedia based learning systems; and education and training
