  • Abstract
Evaluating the degree of coordination between the electric power industry and the national economy accurately is the premise and foundation to promote the harmonious development of them. Existing research focused on coordination between the installed capacity and GDP, while lack overall evaluation of the coordination between the electric power industry and the national economy. This paper measures the development of electric power industry from installed capacity (generation side), the substation capacity (power grids side) and the whole society consumption (demand side), and measure the development of the national economy from the total economy, the economic structure and economic potential. We evaluate the coordinated development between the electric power industry and the national economy through grey correlation model based on the data of China from 1987 to 2006, so as to provide some policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development between the electric power industry and the national economy.
