Abstract
This paper describes an ongoing experiment about reusability of generic classes of control objects in order to improve and facilitate the design of various types of production activity control systems for flexible cells. Conceptual models describing both the target workshops and their control systems are first designed using the OMT object-oriented method. Reusable and adaptable classes of objects are then developed leading to a library of control components suitable to different cells
