Abstract :
A new method that leads to exact solutions for performance metrics related to the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of multihop amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying systems is reported. The approach uses a generalized transformed characteristic function (GTCF) to find the exact average symbol error probability, ergodic capacity and outage probability of generic multihop AF relaying systems. The new GTCF method is illustrated by deriving exact solutions for Nakagami-m fading channels.
