Abstract :
In this paper an IM drive with a passivity-based, torque speed control and a fuzzy CC-PWM is proposed. The torque-speed nonlinear controller offers good transient and steady state performance over an extended operating range. The fuzzy logic based current-controlled pulsewidth modulator improves drive performance because of the reduced harmonic content, the nearly constant switching frequency and the optimum switching sequences; furthermore its behavior can be easily modified in order to include fault tolerance capability
