Abstract
A program for the deployment of compatible ISDN (integrated services digital network) capabilities in the early 1990s is discussed. A phased approach to the introduction has been developed, with support for a specific set of capabilities to be available in Phase 1. Attention is given to such Phase 1 features as standard basic access interface and transport, service transparency, terminal portability, interLATA interworking, and operations support for ISDN. Phase 2 is briefly discussed
