Because of the limited number of online product quality measurements available in polymerization reactors today, there is significant industrial interest in application of online modeling and state estimation for process modeling and control. In this paper we investigate model development, observability, and choice of estimation algorithm for a transition-metal-catalyzed terpolymerization process
