  • Abstract
An original mixed mode search strategy to locate faulty elements in electronic systems is proposed. The strategy reflects a human engineer´s behaviour when diagnosing failures in large systems. Its application to fault diagnosis is illustrated by a procedure applied to a typical radar set. Simple examples of the algorithm to demonstrate practical reasoning on higher levels of hierarchy are presented
