  • Abstract
The paper presents a method of railway track geometric layout design by making use of evolutionary programming. The suggested method of design offers a wide capability in shaping the track system and it is suitable for the computing technique currently in use. In the paper the new method has been applied to the design tasks consisting of avoiding terrain obstacles along the curvilinear transition connecting two circular arcs of reverse curvature
