Abstract :
The pulse response of a dipole antenna was measured. Almost the same waveform as the input pulse was detected by an optical electric field sensor, but damped oscillation waveform was measured when a dipole antenna was used as receiving antenna. To investigate this difference, frequency characteristics of a dipole antenna was measured and calculated by the method of moment. As the result, it was clarified that radiation field characteristics of a dipole antenna with tuning frequency of 90 MHz is very wide band and has even frequency component above 1 GHz. On the other hand, reception characteristics of the dipole antenna were calculated and found to be narrow band. This is considered to be cause of the difference for pulse response above mentioned
