Abstract
The author presents some of the basics behind the SONET interface and some of the applications of the interface in the telecommunications network. Particular emphasis is placed on the basic signal and the multiplexing method. The effect of the SONET interface on the lightwave equipment and digital crossconnect systems is discussed
