Abstract :
Discusses the AXE modular architecture, which allows the rapid introduction of applications, the software that provides the capabilities for the first phase of IN (intelligent network) services, some examples of the IN services´ flexibility, and an IN service creation environment. The AXE supports IN services using the SCP (signal control point) application NTA (number translation analysis). NTA allows for the definition of flexible routing translation programs which consist of translation modules combined in various ways with various data to form IN services. Services can be created in a rapid and self-correcting environment called the service creation environment, an expert system using a graphical interface to combine translation modules to form a service. The expert system checks the service logic and generates the appropriate AXE commands for implementing the service in the NTA function blocks
