Abstract
This paper deals with the control of induction generator terminal voltage and power factor which they are controlled by adjusting reactive power using compensating capacitor. At first, the theoretical equations expressing induction generator terminal voltage and power factor are derived. Then, the compensating capacitor in terms of wind velocity is determined quantitatively. By using the proposed control method, it is confirmed that to be able to keep the terminal voltage and operating power factor of wind power generation system to a target value even in the case when the abrupt deviation of wind speed is caused. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed with MATLAB/SIMULINK simulations.
