Abstract
This paper investigates the application of constant modulus algorithms (CMA) for blind interference suppression and signal estimation via smart antennas. The convergence analysis, including convergence condition, error function shape, the effects of initial condition and “lock and capture” behaviour are investigated via both theoretical analysis and simulations. In particular, two initialising schemes are proposed and examined for the practice in applying the CMA to smart antenna applications
