Abstract
The problem of controlling a queue with three heterogeneous servers when FIFO (first in, first out) delivery is required is studied. One example of this situation is a communications node with three modems of (possibly) different speeds. Two control strategies are proposed, and the queueing and resequencing delays are studied. Numerical results for three cases are calculated and analyzed: two servers with threshold, three servers with threshold, and three servers without threshold
