Abstract
The systematic design of canonical elements for power processing is carried out by inducing sliding motions in appropriate DC-DC switching converters whose equilibrium state is characterized by the corresponding descriptive equation of the canonical element. A search of candidates to implement DC transformers, power gyrators and loss-free resistors is performed by studying a great number of converters with topological constraints imposed by the nature of each canonical element. PV impedance matching by means of a DC transformer illustrates the application of the synthesis.
