Abstract :
The use of variable structured system (VSS) control techniques to design the longitudinal autopilot for a missile under combined aerodynamic surface (fin) and reaction jet control is discussed. High-gain feedback employing singular perturbation analysis is used to design the reaction jet switching surfaces and the fin control law. The work extends work in which all controls were assumed to be linear or bang-bang but not blended
