Abstract :
Problems associated with the control of DC servo systems to reduce the effects of dynamic load disturbances have been extensively studied. However, many of these studies use conventional PID (proportional plus integral plus derivative) control or feedback/feedforward compensation techniques and are relatively slow and susceptible to noise from measurements and disturbance input. A methodology for optimizing the dynamic response through a relatively novel method of inferential control with an embedded real-time Kalman state estimator is presented. A range of simulation results are included to highlight the effectiveness of the proposed method
