Abstract :
China is restructuring its power sector and east China power market has attracted special attention because it is one of the pilot regional power markets in China. East China started simulative operation of monthly ahead energy market on May 2004 and simulated operation of day-ahead energy market on October 2005. On April and December 2006, east China started 10-days trial-operation. This paper outlines the fundamental features of east China power market and provides an overview of the power system security check implementation. The security check modes, how regional and provincial control centers work together in east China power market are described. The basic IT architecture and functionalities of security check system are introduced. In the end, the experience gained from security check in market operation and challenges in the future are discussed.
