Abstract :
The authors report their experience with the application of a variety of multivariable frequency domain design methods to a number of process control problems. They consider a binary and a ternary distillation problem. They particularly emphasize conceptual differences between design methods that are important from an applications point of view. They also discuss how specific features of the control problem favor the application of specific design schemes
