Abstract :
A multiresolution multiplicative autoregressive (MMAR) coding method which is an extension of two-dimensional scalar predictive coding is presented. The hybrid coding method utilizes linear filters, subsampling, and stable block adaptive 2-D predictors to model the image. The design and implementation of the MMAR image coding scheme are discussed in detail.<>
