Abstract
Being the first day ahead market in China, the East China electric power market (ECEPM) also adopts the locational marginal price (LMP) for the first time in the Chinese Power Market. The theory and the key features of LMPs used in ECEPM are introduced in this paper. Usually the LMPs are calculated by assembling their three components: the reference price, the congestion price, and the loss price. Two sample cases of ECEPM are presented to describe the function of each component.
