Abstract :
A method for computing the cumulative distribution of IBPD (inband power difference) on LOS (line-of-sight) radio links, taking into account the path profile and atmospheric effects, is described, and experimental and theoretical results are given. It is shown that on several paths the cumulative distribution of the amplitude distortions strongly depends on the signal radio path. It is concluded that the influence of the Earth surface on the amplitude distortions in a channel band will increase if the antenna heights, the reflection surfaces, or the antenna gains in the direction of the reflecting surface increase. It is concluded that the layout planning for future radio link paths should take precisely into account the profiles of the terrain and the frequency used
