In many ultrasound examinations, an important task is to distinguish between areas of different characteristics, e.g. myocardial tissue and blood. While many studies have reported on exact border determination-which usually requires operator´s intervention, this article reports on a reliable, automatic method for differentiation between blood and tissue in ultrasound images
