Abstract :
The present study aims at comparing the parameter optimization method (POM) for beat-to-beat estimation of Emax (ventricular elastance) with the traditional one. On the basis of an animal experiment using an adult goat, two kinds of estimate of Emax were obtained from the two methods. The correlation coefficient between these estimates was about 0.8-0.9. This means that the POM can give an estimation of Emax similar to the traditional method
