Abstract :
By separating isovolumic ventricular and vascular effects we identify an ejection effect which consist of both a positive and a negative effect of ventricular ejection. We relate the two phenomena to detachment of bonds and cycling of crossbridge bonds, respectively, attributable to muscle shortening during ejection
