Abstract :
The dynamics of a Lynx-like helicopter vary considerably over the operational flight envelope, and, to meet proposed handling quality requirements, it seems probable that a single linear time-invariant controller will not be able to provide adequate performance far from the design operating point. The authors outline two possible schemes, based on a two-degree-of-freedom (2 DOF) structure, currently being considered as part of a full envelope control system. Initial results indicate that the 2 DOF framework offers a useful control strategy for full flight envelope control
