Abstract
This paper analyzes the steady-state performance of a self-excited induction generator whose electrical loads are unbalanced. An equivalent circuit of the induction generator taking into account unbalanced voltages and currents caused by load unbalance is developed. Analysis of the proposed equivalent circuit allows the performance of the induction generator under unbalanced electrical loads to be investigated. Experiments have been carried out to validate the proposed analytical circuit model. Good agreement between analytical and experimental results has been obtained.
