Abstract :
The authors used high-resolution optical recording technique to study the mechanism of protective zone during electrical induction of ventricular fibrillation (VF). Using programmed-stimulation, VF can be induced and terminated with successive stimuli. “Break activation” in virtual electrode mechanism appeared to be responsible for both the onset and cessation of VF
