Abstract :
This paper presents preliminary design considerations and functional testing of a pulsed electromechanical de-icing system for avionic applications. In particular, the focus is on the semiconductor device used to control the energy transfer between the power source and the transducer: 2d fully coupled electro-thermal mixed-mode device-circuit simulations are used to investigate various aspects of the switch performance over the temperature range of interest, with the aim to derive important inputs for system design optimization and reliable development.
