Abstract :
The authors treat free time optimal control problems with state constraints where the data are permitted to be discontinuous with respect to time. Necessary conditions for such problems have previously been derived only under the assumption that the constraint is inactive at the optimal endtime. Careful analysis of the interaction between the optimal free endtime and the state constraint permits the removal of this restriction
