Abstract :
The premise of decoupling parameter estimation of generator to d-axis and q-axis is the rotor angle which can be measured. It applies the information obtained synchronous phasor measurement unit (PMU) to hydraulic generator parameter estimation. When the rotor angle can be obtained, it introduces ant colony optimization algorithm which can optimize the parameters of hydraulic generator described the type of fifth order model assuming only one additional circuit on the d-axis. It stresses the influence to the parameter estimation of hydraulic generator adopting different voltage regulator´s inertial amplification in the excitation system .The experiments to a hydraulic generator in some power plant are carried out by realtime digital simulator (RTDS), exporting data through power supply amplifier system and gathering measurement data from the synchronous phasor measurement unit. The results conclude that the quicker speed of excitation brings the better accuracy of the transient and the sub-transient open-circuit time constant on the parameters of q-axis, while it makes little effects on the 5 parameters of d-axis including electrical parameters and time constants.
