Abstract :
Nanosecond pulsed power was applied to produce ozone. In using a coaxial reactor having a smaller diameter, spark discharges occurred in the reactor; therefore, the ozone concentration reduced. To clarify of the phenomena of the spark discharges in the reactor and control of the spark discharge, effect of gas flow on the occurrence of spark discharges and production of ozone using two-parallel reactor were investigated. Although the dependence of energy density on occurrence of spark discharges did not become clear, gas flow rate would affect the occurrence of spark discharges. Temperature increase of gas and the electrodes was considered as the reason. Ozone concentration of ozone production using two-parallel reactor increased more than ozone production using single reactor. However, occurrence of spark discharge was confirmed when the pulse repetition rate exceeded 50 pps regardless of single or parallel connection. The reduction effect of the voltage pulse tail which caused the spark discharges by using two parallel reactors was not sufficient.
