Abstract :
Our objectives were to systematically investigate the response sensitivity of auditory cortex to speech. We document the modulation of cortical responses to speech by additive background noise and by self-production. Significant magnetic fields modulations were observed in bilateral auditory cortices in response to recorded speech sounds presented below 0 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Additionally, cortical responses were found to be modulated by self-production
