Abstract
The paper describes the development of a method based on a 3D finite element scalar potential solution for evaluating the stator end-leakage inductance and the rotor resistivity end correction factors. Its implementation into a procedure for regular design use, and finally its application to three large synchronous machines, for which test results are available, are described in the paper
