Abstract
The Singapore Circle Line (CCL) rapid transit system (RTS), which is presently under construction, is a medium capacity MRT system comprising 29 stations and is approximately 33 km long. The CCL is wholly underground. This paper seeks to present the design considerations adopted in the traction supply scheme for the CCL RTS. It discusses the initial placement of the traction power substations, the subsequent power simulations conducted and analysis of its results. It further discusses the traction network configuration as well as some protective devices used within the traction supply scheme.
